The strongest of friendships are often forged during times of misfortune, through memorable experiences shared together. Like in the back of an NYPD cruiser after a late night at the Central Park Zoo. That is exactly how TKDJS was born, the artist project of NYC homies Scott, Paul and Mike. We don’t know the full story, but we can vouch for their camaraderie and resulting strength of production quality due to that one night in September.
We got to know the trio a few months ago during a session out in Brooklyn with our artist JT. Over a few hours of songwriting, recording, some brews and piff, we gauged a solid sense of who TKDJS was outside of their music. Beyond their infectious, bubbling house sound, the trio exhibited a deep dedication to their trade. Perfectionists without any sort of negative connotation, these guys are bound to blow up… because they’ll do whatever it takes to grow their sound and make it happen.
Today they give us “Rolling”, featuring rising songstress Chrissy Quadros, and it is a super example of the above. Five months, 3 studio sessions, 2 bags of gummy bears and 800 miles later, “Rolling” became a finished product. Deep bass lines, driving piano chords and Chrissy’s glowing vocals come together for a hit that will grip dance floors everywhere.
