It’s nearly the middle of the week and just about time for our weekly franchise ‘Three Dope Beats’. We started this series to highlight those up-and-coming beat makers that rarely get noticed by ninety-nine percent of blogs out there. Beyond visibility on SoundCloud, some of these producers deserve to shine on a higher level. Their wizardry and creativity deserves praise and hopefully a little mention by us gives them a bump of motivation.
In this weeks edition we rounded up three of our favorite beats from the past week, all embodying vastly different styles. We got some bounce, groove, forward-thinking flavor, danceability and even a little of that good good funk. Peep em below!
◊ “cfmf” – fisherman (w/ slom)
We literally do not know a thing about this beat maker known as fisherman, other than the fact that his twitter page is authored in Korean and he has a mean scarf game. Regardless of the lack of info though, this homie’s beats are pretty damn dope. This new one he published with slom features bursting synths, yippy xylophone sounds and groovy synth bass lines.. delivering a nice wave on this lovely Tuesday afternoon.
◊ “Beat #1” – Vesper
PLAY IT LOUDER affiliated talent Vesper is one of the silkiest emerging producers in the game right now. If I were a music supervisor in charge of placing tracks in dramas or documentaries, the homie’s whole catalog would sit at the top of my stack. There’s just something about his instrumentation and elegant approach that resonates with us on an emotional level.
Yesterday he challenged himself to make one fresh new beat a day for the next three days. “Beat #1” is above and it’s one hell of a start. That guitar scratches our soul and those piano chords are magical. Pumped to hear beat #2…
◊ “Soulfood” – Frankfurt Funk
Chris Neal is Frankfurt Funk, a Germany based boogie head that has a funking dope improv game. We discovered him earlier today via our brotha Dr. MaD out of Montreal and boy are we glad we did. We spent some time combing through his SoundCloud page and these grooves will make you go woooooo! Peep this newest tune dubbed “Soulfood” above and tell us this guy isn’t a true funksta. About to go install the hydraulics in my toyota prius to this one!
